< Horse | CampaignLog | Goat >

Preparations

  • The quest begins when the ghost of Tadashi's lost love, Bayushi Mizuki, gives him the name of the samurai ultimately responsible for his family's massacre: Shoshi Junzo.
  • Mizuki reveals that she was asked to poison Tadashi. Faced with the choice of killing her true love or disobeying her lord, she commits sepuku. Her final letter to Tadashi is intercepted by the Scorpion and never delivered.
  • After preliminary investigation and some training at the Wasp castle, Tadashi heads for Junzo's manor which lies in the lands near S7.

Junzo's Manor

  • Tadashi watches the manor for a few days and eventually observes a peasant being to a cave deep in the mountains and sacrificed before a stalactite which has the appearance of smoked glass.
  • Tadashi questions Junzo's peasants and raises their suspicions. They report the incident to Junzo.
  • Tadashi captures Junzo's daughter, Shoshi Maemi, when she goes to meditate in a forest glade. During the afternoon's travels, Maemi stabs Tadashi. She them contacts Junzo using magic while Tadashi rests and meditates in a small cave.
  • As soshi ninja close in on them, Tadashi attempts to flee with Maemi. While Tadashi kills one of the ninja, a second rescues Maemi and the hunt for Tadashi begins.
  • Eventually Tadashi is captured and taken captive.
  • The soshi make liberal use of fog, invisibility and silence.

Meido

  • Junzo bargains with a Jigoku-tainted Meido spirit, trading Tadashi - the final member of his family line - for power over death. Tadashi's bow, being a family nemuranai, travels with him to Meido.
  • After a long journey through Meido, Tadashi manages to successfully contact Mizuki's ghost by meditating.
  • Mizuki and one of the Shi-Tien-Yen-Wang (weilding a meido enchanted daikatana) arrive and rescue Tadashi from the spirit.
  • After consulting its superiors, the Shi-Tien-Yen-Wang returns Tadashi to realm of mortals.

Aftermath

  • Tadashi receives the flaw Dark Fate (3 points), 2 ranks of meido taint and also the ability to cast spells which draw on the power of meido.
