Background for playersSilvertongue, a master navigator found a teasure map and a key. Together with Captain Nobeard and his crew she set out to find her fortune. The key has been split—half is with the captain, half with Silvertongue (now first mate). A long dangerous voyage aboard the Blue Snail ensued. Spirits were kept high by Crusty the cooks' tasty gruel—and generous portions of rum. Biscuit, Crusty's assistant, cabin boy and general deck hand has been kept busy delivering ale and cleaning pots, all accompanied by a running comentary from Tenzin, the ship's parrot. With land sighted Captain Nobeard, Silvertongue, Crusty, Biscuit and Tenzin set out by rowboat. After navigating the treacherous reefs surrounding the mysterious island the five made their way by lantern light into the deep cave in which the treasure was hidden. As Nobeard and Silvertongue bent to examine the treasure, the lantern flickered and a shot rang out—followed by a scream and then gurgling. When lantern light is finally restored, Crusty is dead on the cave floor. Silvertongue is kneeling next to the lantern. The captain is standing near the treasure. On the ground nearby are both their pistols—these had been placed aside in order to inspect the treasure chest. The captain's has been fired. Biscuit is standing near the treasure. Tenzin is perched on a ledge near the ceiling. The captain and Silvertongue grab their pistols and Biscuit grabs the lantern. A stand-off ensues. |
