Artificial Gravity

Artificial gravity is created by the folding of space. This functionality can easily be built into the standard folders and pinchers of hyperspace drives, so it is common to find it on hyperspace-capable vessels. Larger habitats are generally spun to provide false gravity, and small shuttles go without.

The gravity generator attached to the folder/pincher also decreases the apparent acceleration experienced by the ship interior. How fast the ship can go depends on whether the generator is working. If it breaks while the ship is accelerating, the results are very messy.

Personal antigravity devices exist but are rare because they are bulky and expensive. Antigravity devices do work on spun habitats—they don't push against an existing gravitational field.
