September2004Parties, Jyhad and Mail20 September 2004 Left work early on Friday to go through to Outer Limits and buy some Jyhad cards to make up a second deck. Problems with Evolution (fscking RDF feeds) meant I left slightly late and only got there around 16:00. Managed to put together an okay Gangrel combat deck from the rapidly diminishing supply of Jyhad cards at Outers. The game itself was quite fun, managed to win narrowly with the Gangrel deck despite Adrianna playing my Malkavian sneak-bleed one. Stayed up until 5:20 tweaking the Gangrel deck and constructing a Ventrue / Toreador political deck. On Saturday morning we bought panda beads for Jo from the Bead Shop and also discovered cool jewellery-sized mail links. Spent odd bits of free time over the remainder of the weekend trying out some of the more advanced weaves (have now done 6-in-1, 8-in-1 and kings' mail). Saturday afternoon was singing practice (the male voices are slowly coming along) followed by the screening of Hellboy on MyrdemInggala's computer. That evening we attended Jo's surprise party - was fun but I was a bit wasted from Friday night. Sunday was spent watching Noir (man, it's slow paced) and then we roleplayed in the evening. Our characters have finally gotten off the poverty line. We have shiny (i.e. damp, cheap, basement) new head quarters, a suped up car (previously owned by the gang who were distributing dodgy cyberware), two cellphones and even some spare cash. On the downside, Galois' bike got horribly vandalised and stripped for parts. :| Hopefully he'll be able to afford a better one now that we're earning cash. :) Mixed in amongst the rest of the weekend was the feeding of Tracy and Patrick's cats. Plugin Fixes7 September 2004 Fixed my X-chat nick truncation plugin so that it handles nicks with special codes (colours, bolding, etc) properly and so that you can set the truncation length without having to edit the script [2]. Still to do:
Poison Harddrives6 September 2004 Weekly Round-up:
Spend today working on a file format conversion tool for Win who is over in Japan. Thankfully that's over (for now) and I'm back to working on other stuff. A Mixed Bag2 September 2004 My grandmother had a stroke on Saturday evening and is in False Bay hospital recovering. Her left side is currently paralyzed and it looks like the recovery is going to be long and difficult. Otherwise, things are going well. We watched more Trigun on Saturday with Kevin and Neil (the series just gets better and better) and also managed to fit in a game of Beer Money and one of The Big Idea (although we probably had too many people for Beer Money: Claire and Lucas joined in). Frisbee on Sunday was sparsely attended and very hot both of which contributed to it been a particularly exhausting session. My vote is that me move it back to the much cooler Friday evening slot. We missed singing on Monday to go visit my gran and spend time with the family in Fish Hoek. Tuesday was spent frantically working on Sigil and last night was the first session which included some actual roleplaying. The magic system is now also up and running and seems to be performing nicely. Reuel missed the session (I'll modify the severity of his character's arrow wound when I get an official excuse). |
